Jamie Walker’s fantastic striker earned Robbie Neilson’s men a 1-0 win over Dunfermline Athletic, extending their lead at the top to 12 points.

There was some negative news, however, with Josh Ginnelly ruled out for the season.

@ThisMyStoryPod: “People will say “it’s all about getting out the league” but that’s a s**** excuse. £8million or something daft like that wage bill. I’ve no idea what our game plan is, what’s our philosophy? Not building anything for next season. Very, very frustrating. Great goal to win it tho.

“Last thoughts. Buzzing to win a hard game, worried as to why it ended up a hard game. Naismith can’t start in the 10, he’s a striker or he sits on the bench. Boyce looked instantly more interested when Nando came on. White more effective than GMS, looks really short of sharpness.

“Gordon is a handsome, outrageously good keeper who I love immensely. Walkers goal is superb and everything we want to see from him. Popescu/ Halkett looked solid. Henderson unlucky to be taken off but still not overly convinced. One step closer to the title.”

@maroonspecs: “That goal is proof that when Jamie Walker looks remotely arsed, he's actually capable of genuine match-winning moments. Precisely why Hearts fans get so frustrated with him. Could be on a lot more than 49 goals by now if he hadn't phoned so many games in.”

@RFBorthwick: “Good result, shoulder shrug of a performance. Dunfermline stuffed us out the game really well, especially doing a job on Irving, and a moment of magic from Walker to win it is what was needed.

@A_McLean99: “Not the best performance but victory is all that matters! Brilliant goal by Walker. He really should have started.”

@Muzzhand8: “Naismith and Halliday need dropped and two need to be played up top. Walker also has to start for me imo. 3 points tho.”

@RossW_Mc: “Dunfermline played well, nullified our most important areas for most of the game, undone by a great goal by Walker, hope he can do it more consistently. Whoever finishes 11th in the Premiership is in trouble imo, Dunfermline, Dundee and Raith could all win it.”

Dave Strachan: “Imagine Joel Pereira was in the sticks today? 3-1 Dunfermline.”

@TS_Nicoll: “Huge win. Not pretty at times, but a moment of brilliance from (the recently much-maligned) Jamie Walker. Two clean sheets in a row as well… 12 points clear at the top as we tick over the halfway mark in the league.”

@MartinTaylor9: “Stick a fork in the Scottish Championship, it's done.”

@mssc1984: “Neilson needs to stop trying to shoehorn Naismith into the team. At present he's not in the best 11.”

@HeartsRant: “Awful news that Ginnelly is out for the season. Hard to build a case for giving him any substantial deal without a backstop option that protects the club. A shame because he’s brilliant.”

@TalkinTynie: “Gutting for Ginnelly. Wonder who Savage has up his sleeve.”

@MrParashoot: “No danger could another team come close to the luck we've had with injuries the last couple of years. It's actually mind boggling and it's always the folk you live the most Safe and speedy recovery Gino.”
