The attacker came off the bench to recuse a point in the home Championship clash with Greenock Morton on Saturday. He hung in the air and guided Armand Gnanduillet’s cross into the top corner beyond Aidan McAdams.
Walker is the 37th player to reach the half-century landmark, the first since Colin Cameron, and joins the likes of Willie Bauld, Jimmy Wardhaugh, John Robertson and Tommy Walker, the player’s great uncle.
His 50 goals have arrived in 226 games across two spells and eight seasons.
But what goals are his best? Across the half-century Walker has netted some brilliant strikes and key efforts.
1. St Mirren 2012/13
If fans weren't excited about Walker prior to this goal, they were after. He won the ball back just inside the St Mirren half, drove forward leaving three opponents eating dust before, with little backlift, digging out an excellent effort from the edge of the box which found the back of the net via the underside of the bar. 2. Partick Thistle 2013/14
Hearts had started the season with a 15 point deduction. They had lost to St Johnstone but defeated Hibs before they went to Firhill. With the team trailing, Walker took the ball on the run, dropped his shoulder to go past an opponent and thumped in a late equaliser. Photo: SNS Group Rob Casey
3. Hibs 2014/15
Trailing Hibs in the Edinburgh derby at Tynecastle, Walker got the ball in the half space just outside the Hibs box. He held of Scott Allan and arrowed a shot into the corner which even had Hibs fans turning away thinking the ball was coming to hit them. Photo: SNS Group Rob Casey
4. Celtic 2015/16
Walker gave Hearts a fifth minute lead at Celtic Park, beating current team-mate Craig Gordon with a stupendous strike. Latching on to a loose ball after pressure from Juanma, the attacker looked ready to shoot, stuttered before zipping his effort past Gordon with some ferocity. Photo: SNS Group Rob Casey
