The management team at Riccarton have already ruled Ginnelly out of this weekend’s fixture and Tuesday’s Betfred Cup tie at East Fife.

The on-loan Preston North End player sustained a thigh injury against Arbroath two weeks ago and is still not fully recovered.

Walker is nursing a calf complaint and is expected to train with the rest of the Hearts first team today. Provided he suffers no reaction, a late decision will be taken on whether to include him in the squad to face Inverness at Tynecastle on Saturday.

Roberts is still feeling the effects of a knock sustained in training and may not be risked this weekend. Elliott Frear, who like Ginnelly missed the semi-final altogether, is available.

“Ginnelly won’t be available but he’ll be okay for the Dunfermline game in a couple of weeks,” Hearts manager Robbie Neilson told the Evening News.

“Walker will hopefully train today as he’s had a problem with his calf. Frear is back fit and available.

“Roberts is a possibility but I might just leave him for this Saturday to make sure he’s ready for the games coming up. Everybody else is fine.”

Peter Haring and Steven Naismith will start at least one of Hearts’ next two fixtures as they look to improve match sharpness.

"Both of them are available to start,” said Neilson. “They played 60 minutes on Saturday so they will be fine for the weekend. We play Saturday-Tuesday so they will definitely start in one of those matches.”
