Danny Grainger back in time for Edinburgh derby

DANNY GRAINGER looks set for a return to Hearts’ starting line-up for this weekend’s Edinburgh derby.

The full-back went under the knife at the end of last season to resolve a niggling groin problem but played 20 minutes of the friendly against Rotherham ten days ago and got a further 90 minutes under his belt yesterday in a bounce game against St Johnstone.

Hearts lost the match 1-0 thanks to a Sean Higgins goal but the fact Grainger made it through the match unscathed will have been a huge boost for John McGlynn.

The Hearts manager played Kevin McHattie at left-back in the SPL opener against Saints on Saturday but McGlynn is likely to opt for Grainger’s
experience against Hibs on Sunday.

The left-back, who scored a penalty in the Scottish Cup
final win in May, was suspended for the visit of the Perth side as Hearts won 2-0.
