Jake Mulraney's time at Hearts is coming to an end with Atlanta United favourites to sign the Irish winger. He and Craig Wighton are training with the reserves at Riccarton and are both available for transfer.

A move to America's MLS is on the cards for Mulraney, which would earn Hearts a six-figure sum. Talks between Tynecastle officials and their US counterparts are moving in a positive direction.

Wighton could also leave if he can find another club before the end of the January transfer window, with Dundee considering a move to take the forward back to Dens Park. He and Mulraney are not in the plans of new Hearts manager Daniel Stendel, who continues to trim his squad in anticipation of new signings.

Captain Christophe Berra was told earlier this week that he is free to find a new club, whilst veteran midfielder Glenn Whelan has already left by mutual consent.

With Mulraney's departure expected in the coming days, Stendel is gradually reshaping his squad and freeing up money for new recruits in the process.

Mulraney joined Hearts from Inverness Caledonian Thistle in May 2018 and signed an extended contract until 2022 last summer. He has made 22 appearances this season and featured in three of Stendel's five games in charge of the Edinburgh club so far.

Wighton has managed just three appearances this term and only one since the German replaced Craig Levein as manager. He arrived from Dundee in August 2018 and is contracted until summer 2021.
