Recalling Hearts' Easter Road win which pushed Hibs towards relegation

The 2013/14 season was a contrasting one for Heart of Midlothian Football Club.

On the field the team, burdened by a 15-point deduction following administration, struggled to retain their top-flight status with confirmation of their relegation coming at the start of April.

Off the field, it was about survival for the football club with the Foundation of Hearts earning preferred bidder status as supporters rallied like never before to protect their football club and help guide it out the perilous position it found itself in.

There were plenty of nervy moments along the way, while on the field there were also some low points, namely a 7-0 defeat to Celtic in the Scottish Cup, a semi-final loss to nine-man Inverness CT in the League Cup and a ten-game league run without a win.

However, Gary Locke's men gave their all throughout and saved their best for the Edinburgh derbies, winning four of five. The last one was a 2-1 victory at Easter Road after the team had already been relegated.

Callum Paterson netted twice in the first-half as jubilant visiting fans enjoyed their schadenfreude, the result pushing Hibs closer to the play-off position which they ultimately fell into.

We look back at that win in April 2014, plus the celebrations from Hearts supporters.
