Hearts face Rangers at Tynecastle in the Scottish Cup quarter-final for the first time in a quarter of a century. That meeting is one of the most memorable domestic cup games for many fans of a certain generation. Played under the lights at a ground which was undergoing renovation, the Jam Tarts took a two-goal half-time lead through Colin Miller and Dave McPherson before being pegged back by the visitors. However, goals from John Robertson and Kevin Thomas secured passage to the semi-final. We look back at the players involved in the win.
9. John Robertson
The 'Hammer of the Hibs' put Hearts back in front after Rangers made it 2-2 with a typical poacher's goal, reacting quickest to a rebound. Would be sent off in the semi final with Airdrieonians. Will lead Inverness CT as manager against Hibs in the Scottish Cup quarter-final this week. Photo: SNS Group 0141 221 3602
