Hearts first-team members are said to be unhappy about the proposed wage cuts at the club and are asking Ann Budge to reconsider her position, reports the Daily Mail.

Some players are said to have already agreed to the 50 per cent cut as the Hearts owner looks to avoid financial ruin while the season is suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.

However, there are reportedly several more stars who aren't happy about the reduction being implemented across the entire club.

They have been in talks with PFA Scotland who have advised them not to rush into a decision.

Clevid Dikamona has already agreed to tear up his contract in order to return to France with his family, though the centre-back has stated his desire to return once the outbreak has been contained.

Meanwhile, the Daily Record reports that 12 clubs in the SPFL are set to follow Hearts' lead by offering wage cuts.

The Tynecastle side are expected to be largely successful with their proposal due to Article 12 in the standard playing contract which states that clubs can release players without redundancy pay in the event of a league shutdown.

Teams from all across Scottish football are going to be hit hard financially by the suspension of the sport and many will take drastic measures in order to avoid going to the wall.
