Roberts has yet to achieve full momentum since joining Hearts in the summer and Neilson admitted his groin is taking some time to heal.
"Jordan tweaked his groin about a month ago so we're just trying to build him back up again,” the manager told the Evening News. “We need to be careful with him because we have had a lot of players with little niggling injuries over the last month or two.
"It's something we have to manage. Jamie Walker is being managed, Christophe Berra is another one coming back in, and Stephen Kingsley hasn't played a lot of games in the last couple of years. It's just trying to manage them all.”

It will be the first competitive match between the two clubs for more than 32 years. They last met in the old Scottish Premier Division at Tynecastle on March 26, 1988, when Mike Galloway’s double gave Hearts a 2-0 win.
