Things are hotting up in the transfer window. Hibs have completed their first signing of the month with Matt Macey, a goalkeeper from Arsenal who joins the Easter Road club until the end of the season and is expected to provide competition for current No.1, Israeli international Ofir Marciano. The Leith side are also still thought to be closing in on a move for Chris Cadden.

Hearts, meanwhile, could be about to make a major splash with the news that Gary Mackay-Steven is on the verge of joining the Tynecastle club on a two-and-a-half-year deal after his spell in the MLS. The winger is thought to have turned down a chance to return to Aberdeen to join Robbie Neilson’s side in the Scottish Championship.
