The tightening of lockdown restrictions wasn’t the ideal way to start 2021, but at least for football fans there is the distraction of the January transfer window as news pours in on an hourly basis regarding what our clubs are planning in terms of squad recruitment.

Earlier today, we heard how Hearts boss Robbie Neilson is keen to sign a striker and winger in January. The Tynecastle head coach, in particular, is looking for a forward with a bit of physicality to link the player.

It was also reported that Hibs are stepping up their interest in Motherwell midfielder Allan Campbell. The all-action ace is in the last six months of his deal at Fir Park and will be available to sign on a pre-contract.
