Despite sitting with a comfortable lead at the top of the table, the Gorgie side have failed to impress lately.

@HeartsRant: “FT: 1-1. Miles and miles away from being acceptable. We are so lucky that other teams in this league cannot string together consistent runs of form, or we wouldn’t be top. Arbroath winning gets us off the hook again. This team has nothing about it. Nothing.”

@maroonspecs: “Does jet lag last two months? Asking for Gary Mackay-Steven.

@JamboFanTV: “P**s poor performance but it’s a rescued point. Many players really do need a kick up the arse. That was a hard watch. I can feel depression washing over me as every minute passes.”

@MatthewHarold83: “Hearts are absolutely one-dimensional with no plan b. No doubt the wind will be used as an excuse.”

@FegBizet: “Hearts can’t continue to serve supporters “players” like Gervane Kastaneer and expect us to laugh it all off and just continue paying out money.Absolute joke. There is a list of about 30 of them in the last 3 years alone. The amount of supporter money burnt on absolute s***e.”

@ThisMyStoryPod: “Dunfermline, Dundee, Alloa, Queens, Raith, Morton. Argue with me that that’s acceptable. Argue with me that spending near £9million a year on that is worth it? What is the jumping off point, do we just keep accepting this p**h? Same formation. Same p**h tempo. Same p**h players.

“We may just stumble to winning this league but that’s more a reflection of how poor the other sides are. Forget talking about finishing top 6 next year, this side is miles, miles off it. Why is Naismith starting, midfield, why? It hasn’t worked all season. No width again. S***e.”

@Amoruso1998: “This calendar year: 4 wins, 2 draws, 2 defeats. A 50% win record in the league with our wage budget advantage is a very poor return some decent players in the squad but again issues are around tempo mainly in possession. Just an observation not advocating wholesale changes.”

@davidJmetcalf: “Simply not good enough. Standards have slipped massively at the club.”

@FredSked: “Hugely disappointing and wasteful with chances. Walker's goal a beauty and McEneff impressed again. Other than that, another Saturday to forget.”

@paul_wood_whfp: “Last week it was the pitch to blame, this week on our seven figure pitch against a team who can’t even afford halftime biscuits, what’sthe excuse? Our recent performances have been inexcusable for this division, seriously far short of good enough.”

@ryanmitchell51: “More points dropped but it's more frustrating because we are creating the chances but not putting them away. Another point closer to wrapping the league though, so that's better than nothing!”

@TS_Nicoll: “Hearts Twitter is going to make for uncomfortable viewing tonight after that performance and result… Truth be told - we were nowhere near good enough. Possession is pointless if you don’t have a cutting edge. Too many players hiding.”

@IainMerc: “Dire stuff. Lack of creativity, movement and we just can’t break teams down. Irving sitting on the bench and he’s the most creative player.”
