Thun embroiled in nine-goal 'madness' ahead of Hearts as comeback ace didn't believe was possible launched

FC Thun are next up for Hearts and they’ve been embroiled in a bonkers affair.

FC Thun launched a bonkers comeback ahead of their Conference League clash with Hearts this Thursday - winning their latest match 5-4 from three goals down.

The Swiss champions are next for the Jambos in their continental league phase schedule, following on from a draw against Nordsjaelland, and defeat versus Trabzonspor. Thun have played out narrow 1-0 losses versus FC Twente and Hadjuk Split to begin their campaign but their latest domestic affair with FC Lausanne-Sport was the polar opposite.

Away from home, Furkan Dursun put Thun one up early on in the game but they then conceded four unanswered goals. Gian-Luca Privitelli’s team were 4-1 down with 20 minutes plus stoppages to go before bedlam unfolded.

What happened in Thun’s latest game?

Brighton Labeau looked to have netted a consolation but Riccardo Braschi sparked hopes of a remarkable point. Karim Sow’s own goal restored parity and Thun’s stunning victory was sealed on 96 minutes when Labeau secured his double on a remarkable day.

Poor form has dogged the Swiss side this season, entering Sunday’s game with one win in 10 across 90 minutes and all competitions. They are ninth in the 12-team division on home soil and will hope to carry their free-scoring boost into battle against Hearts this Thursday night.

Captain Marco Burki insisted post-match that ‘We always believed, even when the score was 1-4 and then one thing led to another, and ultimately, the victory.’ Centre-back Jan Bamert confessed: "I would be lying if I said that after 70 minutes, and a 1-4 score, I still believed we could win this match."

FC Thun and FC Lausanne-Sport battled it out in a thrilling encounter, ultimately coming back from a 1-4 deficit to secure an incredible 5-4 away victory. Four late goals earned the Bernese Oberland side three crucial points.
