The former Tynecastle striker netted an equaliser after 14 minutes.

Moments later Wycombe sent out a pointed tweet to Hearts fans who may have questioned the signing of the forward in the summer for the second tier side.

The club had clearly been notified of the Uche’s trip over the ball while playing for Hearts against St Johnstone.

Wycome tweeted: “Thoughts are with those Hearts fans who mocked his signing because he once slipped in bad weather.

"Wycombe loves you, Uche!”

The Chairboys eventually lost 7-2 to Brentford, shipping five goals in the second half, and remain rooted to the bottom of the league.

Hearts responded by confirming the striker’s popularity during his time at Tynecastle.

The club tweeted: The big guy was well-liked up here. Congrats on the goal @UcheIkpeazu. Commiserations on the result, Wycombe fans...the only way is up!”
