Hibees beat Rangers to tee up SWPL final with Glasgow
Hibees boss Chris Roberts was not only delighted to be through to the final again, but also in the way his side played.
“It was a positive response from everyone,” said Roberts. “After the disappointment from losing to Glasgow City last week we knew we could perform better. Going into the Rangers game we knew that’s something we needed to put right against a well organised side, but to dominate the game like we did was really pleasing.”

Hide AdHibs took the lead early on when Abigail Harrison was first to react to a loose ball in the box and blasted it into the top corner. Joelle Murray then came close to making it 2-0 after 23 minutes, but the Hibs skipper was knocked off balance and her shot flew just wide of goal.
Harrison almost turned provider just before half-time as she latched on to a Lizzie Arnot cross and cut back for Lisa Robertson but she couldn’t get her header on target.
The Hibees doubled their lead on 51 minutes. Harrison again found the back of the net in a bizarre circumstance as her shot-cum-cross bamboozled the Rangers keeper.
Arnot continued her fine form for the season as she scored the third with 22 minutes remaining. The Scotland internationalist capped off an excellent team move with passing play down the left before Arnot tapped the ball in from close range.
Chantelle Brown brought it back to 3-1, only for Sarah Ewens to lob the keeper to confirm Hibs’ passage to the final.
