Hibs and Celtic agree deal over Anthony Stokes loan move

Hibs and Celtic have agreed a deal to send Anthony Stokes on loan to Easter Road until the end of the season '“ but the striker himself has yet to finalise terms.

The Hibees faced competition from Ladbrokes Premiership outfits Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Dundee United – plus a host of English clubs – to secure the services of the former Hibee, 27, but it now looks increasingly likely he’ll join up with Alan Stubbs’ side.

The Hibs head coach is hopeful a deal can be struck which will allow the player – who has fallen out of favour at Parkhead – to line up in Sunday’s Championship clash at Falkirk.
