Hibs ladies manager Chris Roberts will put aside any cup final chat as he prepares his side for the first Edinburgh derby of the season against Spartans tomorrow.

The Hibees are coming off the back of a convincing 4-1 win against Rangers last week to set up the SWPL Cup final clash with Glasgow City, but he insists all the focus is on the Ainslie Park side.

“The final’s a wee while away so we can put it to the back of our minds for the time being,” Roberts said. “We’ve got to focus on the games coming up and none more so than Spartans this weekend.

“It’s probably our main derby, the teams know each other well and we’ve been competitive with each other for a while also. It’s a really exciting game.” Meanwhile, Spartans’ Suzy Shepherd is returning to her old club for the first time as player/manager of the opposing side and is aware that Hibs will be no pushovers.

“It’s going to be my first time as manager in this game and it’s one I’m looking forward to,” she said. “We’re all aware of how strong Hibs are and have once against proved that they’re a top team this season.”

There’s also local action in SWPL 2 as top-of-the-table Hearts host Hutchison Vale, the sides currently separated by just two points.
