Hibs loanee Jordon Forster set for Plymouth return

On-loan Hibs defender Jordon Forster is poised for a return to action less than a month after suffering a horror injury which was initially thought to have ended his season.

Forster, who joined Derek Adams’ Plymouth Argyle for the rest of the season in January, went crashing into the advertising hoardings as the League Two side faced Barnet at The Hive Stadium at the beginning of this month.

The 22-year-old required extensive treatment after being knocked out and was taken to hospital with a suspected broken jaw although, thankfully, his head injury wasn’t as bad as first feared.

But now Adams hopes Forster will return for the promotion-chasing Pilgrims’ crucial Easter programme, away to Morecambe on Friday and at home to Jackie McNamara’s relegation threatened York City on Monday.

Forster was an unused substitute as Plymouth lost to Luton at Home Park at the weekend – Adams’ side having taken just one point from their last three games to put a dent in their hopes of a play-off place – after taking part in his first training session since picking up his injury the previous day.

However, with nine league games remaining, Adams is desperate to have a full squad at his disposal. The former Easter Road assistant said: “It’s important everyone is fit. Jordon was not fit enough to play against Luton as he had only trained on the Friday and wasn’t up to speed. But it was good to have him in and around the squad on Saturday and feeling ready to go for the next game.”
