Hibs monitoring Ross County striker Brian Graham

The Easter Road club are keen to add a striker with experience and presence, and the 6ft 2ins 28-year-old is being considered as a genuine option to complement an attack that already includes Jason Cummings, James Keatings and Grant Holt.

Hibs manager Neil Lennon was at the Indodrill Stadium on Tuesday night to see Graham score in County’s 3-2 defeat by Alloa Athletic in the Betfred Cup.

Graham scored 11 goals in just 16 starts for County last term after joining on a two-year deal from Dundee United last summer. He has scored in each of the Dingwall side’s three Betfred Cup matches this season, but started on the bench in the first two of those before being given a start against Alloa.

With Craig Curran, Alex Schalk and Liam Boyce on the books, Graham, whose deal in Dingwall expires next summer, faces stiff competition for a starting place in the upcoming campaign.

Graham has notched more than 100 goals in a ten-year career that has encompassed spells at Morton, East Stirlingshire, Raith Rovers, United, St Johnstone and County.

Hibs are still waiting to hear if their bid to bring Celtic midfielder Liam Henderson back to Easter Road has been successful, while the search for a goalkeeper is ongoing, with Brian Murphy, a 33-year-old Irishman most recently of Portsmouth, emerging as a possible target.
