Lord Provost Donald Wilson said: “What a historic victory for Hibernian Football Club.

“Many congratulations to Hibs for bringing the Scottish Cup home. No matter what colour scarf you wear or where you live, I’m sure all football fans in the city will recognise this is a time for celebration. I think it’s fair to say the weather forecast is for sunshine on Leith this Sunday.”

Plans for the parade were discussed and have been jointly approved by the Council, Police Scotland, emergency services, Hibernian Football Club and Lothian Buses. It is anticipated that there will be a degree of disruption to traffic while the event is ongoing, however every effort will be made to keep this to a minimum
