The 18-year-old LASK Linz striker has been strongly linked with a £200,000 move from his Austrian club to Easter Road.

According to The Scottish Sun, the clubs have agreed terms and the 6ft 4in frontman will arrive in the coming days when paperwork is finalised.

The report adds that LASK sporting director Radovan Vujanovic has negotiated a sell-on clause as part of the deal.

Asked about the speculation on Griger, Johnson said: “We’ve been linked with a lot. At the moment, we’re not looking to necessarily add in that position.

“But in terms of depth and youth, our eyes are wide open to add people in and quality players.

“He’s not our player and it’s difficult to talk about, but we’ve got so many on the list now. We’re really starting to hone in on the data side. It is starting now to become obvious what a Hibs player looks like.”

Griger signed for the Austria Bundesliga side from Zemplín Michalovce in his homeland in 2021 before being loaned to third tier side FC Juniors OÖ, where he scored four goals.

He scored a stoppage time goal for Slovakia Under-20s against Romania in June to book his country’s place at next March's World Cup.

Griger previously spent a week on trial at Rangers in 2019 when Kevin Thomson was in charge of their development team. He scored in a bounce game against Queen's Park but nothing materialised.
