Marc McNulty has insisted there’s no bad blood between him and Allan McGregor following the Rangers goalkeeper aiming a kick at him the last time they faced each other.

McGregor was shown a straight red card by referee Bobby Madden – who will again be in charge for tonight’s match at Ibrox – for what Rangers boss Steven Gerrard called “a moment of madness” as he lashed out at the Hibs striker.

Only moments earlier, McGregor had pulled off a wonder save from Flo Kamberi to ensure his side won the match, a stop Gerrard described as “world class”.

His loss of control resulted in him being suspended for the final Old Firm clash of the season and forced Gerrard – who had already used all three substitutes – to put defender Ross McCrorie in goal for the final few minutes.

But McNulty claimed last May’s clash won’t come into his thinking tonight, saying: “I’ll maybe ask him what happened as I think he blamed it on me.

“It was one of them, these things happen in football. I haven’t thought too much about it but I imagine there will be a couple of coming-togethers again.

“Do these things linger? No, I actually laughed about it after the game. I thought it was funny. It was just out of the blue but you get on with it. It’s just football.”

McNulty admitted he’s looking forward to savouring the atmosphere at the Govan ground again as he expects Rangers to come out “with all guns blazing” having slipped seven points behind arch-rivals Celtic in the race for the Premiership title.

The on-loan striker said: “It’ll be a tough game. It’s a good place to go and play football. Last season was the first time I’d been and it was a great atmosphere. I enjoyed it.

“With Rangers slipping up a couple of times recently, you can look at it two ways. It might be the worst time to play them as they will want to come out and make things right.

“But we just need to concentrate on ourselves and if we do everything we are meant to and we execute the gameplan well, I’m sure we could get something.

“You aren’t going to keep Rangers quiet the whole game. We just need to make sure we defend well and are positive. We have been scoring goals and creating chances, so there is no reason why we can’t do that at Ibrox.”
