'At least we beat Hearts' - Queen of the South troll Jambos with cheeky tweet after Hibs loss
In the aftermath of their Scottish Cup exit at the hands of Hibs, Queen of the South were able to see the positives of their defeat.
A brace from Christian Doidge and a third from Martin Boyle secured a 3-1 win for the Easter Road side with James Maxwell netting a consolation for the hosts.
The club’s Twitter account published a message, now deleted, that read: “Full time: We couldn’t beat Hibs, but at least we beat Hearts last week.
"Five cup finals left for the South now as we push for promotion play-offs.”
Unsurprisingly the post was amplified by gleeful Hibs fans before being removed and replaced with a message that was far less cheeky.
"Queens simply outclassed by Premiership opposition at Palmerston. Best of luck to Hibs in the rest of the competition.”
In a bizarre coincidence Brora Rangers also published, before swiftly deleting, a post mocking Hearts and playing up to Hibs following their 2-1 Scottish Cup win last month.
