Michael Hansborough bemoaned a lack of options on the subs' bench: “Nothing on the bench to change it players tiring towards the end needed freshening up.”

Paul Stevenson mused: “Can't but help think if we can get a couple of class players in we could easily take third place in the league.”

Neil West pointed out: “Bear in mind we were missing Doidge, Allan, Murphy, Mallan and Magennis. That’s some decent quality there.”

Brian Allan wrote: “Delighted with the performance today. VAR would have given us a penalty. How often do we witness Rangers wasting time at Ibrox? Speaks volumes for me. Onwards and upwards.”

Elliot Scott was staying positive: “Much better team there, Rangers aren’t great shakes.”

Jamie Burrell tweeted: “Hard lines today, heads up.”

Mat Priestley added: “Missed chance in the opening minute and if the penalty was given (high boot) it’s a different game with a different result.”

Keith Robertson said: “Disappointing, not as aggressive as I would've liked but we did alright disrupting Rangers. In attack it was evident we were missing key players as headers and shots weren't hitting target. Great league debut for Barnes, kept the scoreline down. On to the next one now.”
