Hibs can look back on the 2020/21 campaign with a degree of satisfaction – third place was secured along with European football, and the team was never out of the top four in the league.

But there will always be a lingering feeling of “what-might-have-been” after the Capital club lost out in the Scottish Cup final to St Johnstone and exited the Betfred Cup at the semi-final stage to the same opponents, as well as falling at the penultimate hurdle in the delayed 2019/20 Scottish Cup tournament at the hands of rivals Hearts.
