Hibs avoided a cup upset against League One side Cove Rangers thanks to two goals in the second half from Jamie Gullan and Kevin Nisbet.

Daniel Higgins had given the hosts a deserved lead from a free kick in the first half as Paul Hartley’s side started the stronger of the two teams.

But Jack Ross introduced Gullan for the ineffective Drey Wright at the interval and he had an immediate impact, slotting the ball home from Martin Boyle's low cross.

Nisbet had had a quiet first half but scored a fine goal to give Hibs the lead.
