After joining from Rangers in 2018, Eddie endured a highly unfortunate start as she suffered a knee injury which kept her out for most of the 2019 campaign. The subsequence Covid pandemic caused further interruption for the Scottish international and ensured that the start of her Hibs career was limited.

However, since the pandemic Eddie has been in great form for Hibs. This was recognised by national team boss Pedro Martínez Losa, who called up in 2021 and she subsequently made her debut against Northern Ireland. Another international cap later and she was rewarded once again with a new two-year deal at the club in April, tying her down till 2024.

Gibson, was full of praise for the young centre half after she made her 50th appearances for the club against Rangers on Sunday. He Tweeted: “Young player who has missed a larger period of her career due to injury and still hit this milestone with a few international caps along the way. Great player to work with and an even better person. Sure we can fit another 50? Congratulations Leah Eddie”.

Hibs have endured a tough start to the season in the SWPL finding themselves ninth in the SWPL1 after seven games. However, they have a big chance to bounce back on Wednesday when they travel up to Aberdeen, who find themselves 11th in the table and lost 3-0 at Hearts on Sunday. A cup quarter-final away to Kilmarnock on Sunday also presents Hibs with opportunity to reach another major semi-final.
