Don Robertson has been given the nod to take charge of Hibs’ home match with Rangers on Sunday September 20 (kick-off 12noon).

The whistler has overseen 20 matches involving the Easter Road side and 26 involving the Gers but is yet to take charge of a meeting between the two teams.

The 33-year-old has already been the man in the middle for one of the Capital club’s fixtures this term, booking five players in the 1-0 win against Dundee United at Tannadice last month.

Of Robertson’s 26 matches featuring Rangers, the Ibrox side has won 16, drawn six, and lost four. In his 20 matches involving Hibs, there have been 13 wins for the men in green and white, four draws, and three defeats.

Sunday’s match will be Robertson’s fifth of the campaign. He has shown 17 yellow cards in total so far, but is yet to award a penalty kick or send a player off.

He is assisted by David McGeachie and Frank Connor, with Euan Anderson on fourth-official duties.

Hibs have accumulated eight yellow cards so far this season, dished out to six different players.

Paul Hanlon and Joe Newell have incurred two cautions apiece while there have also been bookings for Scott Allan, Alex Gogic, Paul McGinn, and Ryan Porteous.

Five Rangers players have been booked in the Gers’ first seven matches.

Strike duo Cedric Itten and Alfred Morelos have both been yellow-carded along with defenders Borna Barisic and Connor Goldson and ex-Hibs loanee Brandon Barker.
