The 20-year-old will link up with former Easter Road colleague Scott Allan at Gayfield and get more first-team games under Dick Campbell’s leadership.

Tait, who moved to Hibs from Raith Rovers this time last year, signing a long-term contract late on deadline day, returned to Stark’s Park on loan and despite being recalled in January, headed out on loan again to eventual Championship winners Kilmarnock but found his season curtailed by injury.

He made his Hibs debut in the 5-0 Premier Sports Cup group win against Clyde but didn’t make the matchday squad for any of the the side’s opening five Scottish Premiership matches.

Manager Lee Johnson hinted earlier this summer that the central midfielder would be likely to head out on loan.

Writing on social media, Tait said: “Looking forward to playing football again."

Tait becomes the tenth Hibs player to leave on loan. Christian Doidge completed a season-long loan move to Kilmarnock on Wednesday while Jack Brydon, Allan Delferriere, and Emmanuel Johnson are all at partner club FC Edinburgh.

Dan MacKay re-joined former side Inverness Caledonian Thistle on loan and Norwegian winger Runar Hauge headed to Irish side Dundalk where he linked up with Stevie Bradley, who has been with the Lilywhites since January.

Former Civil Service Strollers midfielder João Baldé is currently playing under former Easter Road striker Stevie Crawford at East Fife in League Two while young goalkeeper Murray Johnson has just been voted player of the month for Airdrieonians after some fine performances in his first five appearances for the Diamonds.
