Saturday was meant to be the day Edinburgh took over Glasgow with the Scottish Cup semi final between Hearts and Hibs.

There was expected to be tens of thousands of fans heading west to Mount Florida with a place in the Hampden Park showpiece final at stake.

Instead fans of both sides were left with another football-less weekends for their respective sides with the shutdown still in place following the coronavirus outbreak.

Ex-Celtic midfielder Scott Brown shared an interesting image on his Instragram account created by football clothing business Ten Caats Edinburgh. It is a select side from both Hearts and Hibs of the best players to have played for the clubs in the last 30 years.

It prompted a number of former stars from the Edinburgh clubs to get involved.

Craig Gordon posted a Latvia flag which is used by Hearts fans on social media, commenting it would be a good game. He also posted: “No way Leigh Griffiths is scoring”.

The Celtic striker replied: “Cmonnnnnnn now Craig.”

John McGinn told Brown that the Celtic star could do is running for him, prompting Brown to query: “I thought that was your strength.”

Former Celtic defender Mikael Lustig even got in on the chat, posting: “Darren McGregor he’s a great defender he never gives the ball awaaay.”
