The Loons had to pull out of their League Cup opener against Dundee after an individual returned a positive test.

Normally the person in question self-isolates and the game goes ahead – as with Alex Gogic and Hibs’ match against Aberdeen in August.

However, the Station Park side were unable to complete the track and trace process to identify any other players or staff who may have had contact with the player in advance of the game and had to forfeit their involvement in the Group B opener, with the Dark Blues awarded a 3-0 victory.

An SPFL spokesperson has told the BBC that Forfar's match against Hibs is proceeding as planned, as things stand.

The player and one other close contact are self-isolating and the remainder of the squad has tested negative.

League chiefs will continue to monitor the situation.
