The head coach made three changes from the side that started against St Johnstone at Hampden with Christian Doidge coming in for the ineligible Jamie Murphy; Melker Hallberg replacing Martin Boyle, and Darren McGregor captaining the side with Paul Hanlon dropped to the bench.

Charlie Banks tweeted: “So Hanlon is droppable?”

Kayleigh Purves agreed: “About time Hanlon was benched.”

Fraser Sneddon added: “McGregor’s knees are in the mud, this game is not going to be good."

Scott Marr was concerned: “Happy to see McGregor but is he gonna be match fit? I’d rather have Boyle right wing than Cadden, too...”

Cameron Ward said: “Now that, that is something I can back. I don’t give a **** about the other ten names as long as Hanlon isn’t one of them."

Scott Junior added: “Hanlon and Boyle finally dropped, both been awful for months.”

Mikey Stewart (not that one) joked: “Hanlon and Boyle dropped and Mallan back in the squad? Jack Ross has picked this team off Twitter after Saturday!"

Scott Kettles predicted: “Big night ahead for Jack Ross."

John Joseph Friary wasn't feeling too positive: “Not confident but a point would be good!”

Steven Bell tweeted: “It’s sad when you’re happy about a centre back who’s past it replacing one who should still be able to do a job.”

Nick Hall said: “That team v the subs plus a couple of the young lads would be a good game.”

Isla Smith wanted to know: “Marciano again... what did Macey do to get dropped?”
