Jack Ross made eight changes to his side in a bid to rest some of his key men ahead of next week and the alternative team put in a strong showing.

Substitute Jackson Irvine had the best chance of a goal, seeing a close-range effort deflected over the bar late on, while Ofir Marciano kept a clean sheet in his final game.

Key Events

  • Fringe players set for runout
  • Celtic haven’t won a league game at Easter Road since 2014

...well, it felt strange writing that ahead of a football game but here we are for the final league game of what has been a remarkable season for many different reasons.

I’ll have all the latest from Easter Road right here in our live blog.

Just the eight changes to the team that started against Aberdeen

Marciano; Gray, Porteous, McGregor, Stevenson; Magennis, Hallberg, Gogic, Newell, Wright; Murphy.

Subs: Dabrowski, Macey, McGinn, Doidge, Boyle, Nisbet, Doig, Irvine.

Big fan of Jack Ross embracing the false 9 approach. The Hibs head coach is constantly seeking to better himself and take tips from wherever he can. Didn’t quite imagine him going down the Spain route but there you go!

Barkas, Kenny, Walsh, Ajer, Taylor, McGregor, Brown, Turnbull, Christie, Elyounoussi, Edouard

Subs: Hazard, Griffiths, Ajeti, Soro, Murray, Forrest, Henderson, Ralston, Dembele.

Great fun trying to work out what formation Hibs will line up in. David Gray has played as a right centre-half this season so it’s not unthinkable that him, McGregor, and Porteous could form a back three with Wright and Stevenson as wing backs; Newell, Gogic, and Hallberg in the midfield and Magennis as a ten off Murphy in a 3-5-1-1. We shall just have to wait and see!

Under way at Easter Road

Joe Newell gets the ball rolling for the final time at Easter Road this season

Celtic threatening early but Gray clears the danger

Turnbull shoots from just inside the box but it’s cleared by a combination of green-shirted bodies.

Hibs appear to be playing a 4-4-2 with Magennis and Murphy in the wide areas and Hallberg and Wright up top.
