Hibs ended 2020 with a whimper rather than a bang as they went down 2-0 to Ross County at Easter Road.

Goals in each half from former Hearts youngster Harry Paton and ex-Hibs striker Oli Shaw were enough to hand John Hughes his first win in charge of the Staggies and arrest a poor run of form for the Dingwall outfit.

Hibs started strongly but passed up a number of good chances and seemed to lose their zip and cohesion the more the game went on.

They had opportunities after Paton’s opener but couldn’t breach the County goal.

The win moves Ross County off the bottom and prevents Hibs from re-taking third spot from Aberdeen.
