Hibs v Rangers LIVE

Show new updates

Around 45 minutes until kick-off at Easter Road as Hibs host Rangers looking to continue their impressive start to the campaign.

Only one change from the team that started against St Mirren last week with Drey Wright replacing Jamie Murphy, who is ineligible to face his parent club.

Hibs line up: Marciano; P McGinn, Porteous, Hanlon, Doig; Boyle, Newell, Gogic, Wright; Nisbet, Doidge. Subs: Barnes, Gray, McGregor, Stevenson, S McGinn, Hallberg, Mallan, Shanley, Gullan.

Here’s how Rangers line up for this afternoon’s match

How are the fans feeling ahead of today’s match?

Both teams out on the pitch ahead of the kick-off.  Hibs in their traditional green shirts with white sleeves, white shorts, and green socks; Rangers in their change kit of black shirts, black shorts, and orange socks.

Ryan Kent will get us under way on referee Don Robertson’s signal

Hibs shooting towards the Dunbar End in this first half.

Not a great deal to discuss from the opening ten minutes or so, aside from Morelos’ header from a Kent corner which he sent narrowly wide from around six yards out. Both sides have been keen to get forward but remain pretty evenly matched so far.

Nisbet with a shot on the turn from the edge of the area but McLaughlin pulls off a fine save to deny the striker.  Hibs have a corner…

Hibs take the lead through Drey Wright! Martin Boyle did well down the right hand side and his low ball into the box was slotted home by Wright from close range. Hibs 1, Rangers 0.

Jack Ross spoke ahead of this match about a desire for his team to attack Rangers - that was certainly the case for Wright’s opener as Hibs had five players in the box at the end of the movement. Questions could be asked of Barisic and how he dealt with Boyle but it was a slick, well-worked move and although perhaps slightly against the run of play, the hosts won’t mind that at all.
