The loan move back to London, after the Israeli’s withdrawal in the warm-up ahead of Saturday’s defeat to Livingston, has left the Easter Road club short-handed, a week before facing Celtic in Glasgow next Monday.

Coach Craig Samson is the only available stopper on the books with senior experience, but Jack Ross’ dilemma has been offered a helping hand from a former Hibs favourite.

Conrad Logan, the goalkeeping hero of the 2016 Scottish Cup win, has offered to step between the sticks again with a light-hearted message telling the club “I’ll get my gloves and boots dusted off,” after learning of Dillon’s move back south in search of first-team football.

‘The Polar Bear’ was on loan at Forest Green Rovers in England’s League Two last season but is now linked to United Counties League Premier Division side Anstey Nomads.
