The 26-year-old, who signed on a six-month contract in January, made his fourth appearance of the season as Hibs defeated Stranraer 4-0 to reach the last eight of the Scottish Cup.
Macey, who also started in the previous round against Queen of the South, came in for Ofir Marciano and made two good saves to preserve his clean sheet at Stair Park.
Marciano will leave Hibs at the end of season when his contract ends and while Macey’s deal is also expiring, Hibs hope to extend it, with Ross revealing that he will keep the gloves for next weekend’s Scottish Cup quarter-final at home to Motherwell.
"Matt is a good keeper and I said I would give him the opportunity to play in cup ties and I will continue to do that,” said Ross. “He showed his quality in the last ten minutes with a couple of saves.”
