Kevin Nisbet has arrived at East Mains to finalise his move to Hibs after the Easter Road side agreed a six-figure fee with Dunfermline Athletic for the striker.

The 23-year-old will undergo a medical and conclude personal terms.

Hibs were keen to bring in the former Raith Rovers forward in January, but had two bids thrown out by the East End Park side, with Dundee United also having an offer rejected.

Nisbet's exploits in front of goal for the Pars have won him numerous suitors, with Portsmouth and Shrewsbury Town both credited with an interest last month, and United continuing to monitor the situation.

He scored 23 goals for Stevie Crawford’s side in the 2019/20 season, including a four-goal haul against former club Partick Thistle in a 5-1 Scottish Championship win in November last year.

Last month, Nisbet revealed he had been keen to make the step up to the Scottish Premiership when Hibs came calling at the start of the year.

He added: “There was a lot of interest in January and Hibs put an offer in, and I wanted to go. It looked like it was going to happen, but then the bid was rejected, as was the one from Dundee United, and I stayed at Dunfermline.

"Of course, I was disappointed the move didn’t happen for me but it didn’t stop me performing for Dunfermline for the rest of the season.”

Nisbet will join Christian Doidge, Jamie Gullan, and Florian Kamberi in the Easter Road side’s attacking ranks, although the latter is expected to leave the club.

Rangers are understood to have approached Hibs with a view to taking the Swiss-born striker on loan again after his temporary stint at Ibrox last term.

The player is open to a second spell with Steven Gerrard’s side but would prefer a permanent transfer rather than another loan deal.

Kamberi, who has 12 months remaining on his Hibs contract, has been the subject of interest from English Championship side Hull City as well as a number of clubs in Europe.

Hibs are also set to conclude a deal for ex-St Johnstone winger Drey Wright, who is a free agent has been training with the club for more than a week.
