Hibs have confirmed the departure of goalkeeping coach Alan Combe after six years at the club.

The 46-year-old moved to Easter Road in July 2014 and initially kept his playing registration in case of an emergency between the sticks.

He worked under Alan Stubbs during the Scottish Cup triumph in 2016, through promotion back to the top-flight with Neil Lennon before continuing under Paul Heckingbottom.

He continued to serve under Ross following the manager’s appointment last November but was made surplus to requirements following the arrival of Craig Samson in the summer.

Samson, who has not yet been officially unveiled at Easter Road, previously coached under Ross at Sunderland and was operating as goalkeeping coach of League One club Rochdale last season.

A club statement read: “Everyone at Easter Road would like to wish Alan all the best for the future and thank him for his efforts.”
