A handful of loan players will be on their way. Although Hibs still hope to lure Dan Barlaser back to Easter Road, with the Middlesbrough midfielder about to become a free agent in a matter of weeks.
Among those who actually count Hibs as their parent club, meanwhile, Martin Boyle’s departure has already been confirmed. Elie Youan will be making his long-trailed exit, too.
And then there are the seven players about to head into the final season on their multi-year contracts. Sometimes, but not always, a tricky time for club and employee.
Overall, after several hard transfer windows of clearing out, cleaning up, trimming and then reinforcing in key areas, head coach David Gray and sporting director Malky Mackay would appear to have built a squad boasting stability and flexibility. Even if not every member of the group is exactly where they want/need to be in terms of commitment and security, there aren’t many alarms going off. Not yet, at least.
With this season still building towards a crescendo, the football department out of East Mains are already planning for next year. Here’s a complete breakdown of what they’ll have to work with, heading into the summer.

9. Jamie McGrath - Summer 2029
What a signing he's been. Bagged on a pre-contract agreement while still at Aberdeen, the Irishman has been excellent in an attacking midfield role - and has even filled in at left wingback when required. | SNS Group

10. Elie Youan - Summer 2026
Ah, Elie. It feels like he's been leaving Hibs in virtually every one of the past half dozen transfer windows. A free agent in a matter of weeks, he'll finally be on his way when the season ends. Leaving fans to argue over his legacy and contribution in four years at Easter Road. | SNS Group

11. Warren O'Hora - Summer 2027
Irish centre half has established himself as a first pick on the right of the back three since signing as a free agent in the summer of 2024. The former MK Dons defender will head into the final season of his contract with options - including, presumably, one to extend his stay at Easter Road. | SNS Group

12. Josh Mulligan - Summer 2029
Currently recovering from ankle surgery, the former Dundee star has been an absolutely barnstorming signing for Hibs. Whatever the final compensation package agreed for a free agent who had risen through the ranks at Dens Park, the Edinburgh club got a bargain. If/when he moves on, it will likely be for big money - although Hibs fans will be hoping that doesn't happen until closer to the end of his four-year deal. | SNS Group
