A handful of loan players will be on their way. Although Hibs still hope to lure Dan Barlaser back to Easter Road, with the Middlesbrough midfielder about to become a free agent in a matter of weeks.
Among those who actually count Hibs as their parent club, meanwhile, Martin Boyle’s departure has already been confirmed. Elie Youan will be making his long-trailed exit, too.
And then there are the seven players about to head into the final season on their multi-year contracts. Sometimes, but not always, a tricky time for club and employee.
Overall, after several hard transfer windows of clearing out, cleaning up, trimming and then reinforcing in key areas, head coach David Gray and sporting director Malky Mackay would appear to have built a squad boasting stability and flexibility. Even if not every member of the group is exactly where they want/need to be in terms of commitment and security, there aren’t many alarms going off. Not yet, at least.
With this season still building towards a crescendo, the football department out of East Mains are already planning for next year. Here’s a complete breakdown of what they’ll have to work with, heading into the summer.

17. Alasana Manneh - Summer 2028
The only signing of the January 2025 window for Hibs, Manneh has singularly failed to make an impact at Easter Road. Forget the number on the contract. There will be efforts made to find the former Odense midfielder a more suitable environment during the summer. | SNS Group

18. Felix Passlack - Summer 2029
Former Borussia Dortmund wunderkind has settled in brilliantly since signing for Hibs in January. An attacking wingback who, at the age of 27, should be in his prime years. | SNS Group

19. Dane Scarlett - Summer 2026
On loan until the end of the season, the Spurs striker may be understandably preoccupied by events at his parent club. What happens next for the centre forward will depend, at least in part, on whether Tottenham avoid relegation. Hard to see him back at Hibs, though, regardless. | SNS Group

20. Jordan Smith - Summer 2028
Signed as a back-up goalie, promoted to a starting spot, rewarded with a new long-term contract last March, heavily involved in an uproarious European campaign ... and now finds himself playing a supporting role to Sallinger. Crammed a lot into less than two seasons, hasn't he? | SNS Group
