The 21-year-old, who has had two previous loan spells with Gala Fairydean Rovers, will bolster the Ochilview side’s options between the sticks after Stenny first-choice goalie and former Hibs ‘keeper Graeme Smith sustained a knee injury at the weekend.

Smith is expected to be sidelined for at least four to six weeks with Callum Erskine the only other goalkeeping option for Davie Irons.

The Warriors boss said: “We are really happy to bring Paddy into the club. We believe he has the potential and is at the right stage in his development to do well for the club over the next two months.

"The reports we have had on him are very positive and we look forward to working with him.”

Hibs’ Sporting Director Graeme Mathie added: “This is a great opportunity for Paddy. Callum and Jayden have spoken very highly of their loan spells at Stenhousemuir this season, so we are delighted to have another young player there to aid their football development.”

Martin, who has been training with the Capital club’s first team in recent weeks, is keen to kick on after returning from injury last season.

He said: “I’ve worked hard to get back to full fitness and it’s made me all the more determined to keep improving.

"I’ve really enjoyed working with Craig Samson and the senior goalkeepers at Hibs but there’s no substitute to playing games and that’s the next step for me.”

Martin will be available for Saturday’s trip to Cowdenbeath.
