Hibs have been handed a significant boost ahead of their trip to face Ross County with influential midfielder Jackson Irvine expected to be fit for the Scottish Premiership clash in Dingwall.

The Australian internationalist joined the Easter Road side on a short-term deal until the end of the season in January and has played a big part in the team reclaiming third spot from rivals Aberdeen.

He was forced off with a shoulder injury in the second half of the Capital club’s 2-0 victory over the Dons last weekend, sparking fears he may be sidelined for the meeting with the Staggies this weekend.

However, Hibs are expecting the 27-year-old to be available for selection as they seek a first win of the season against John Hughes' charges.

Irvine's midfield colleague Alex Gogic also appeared to suffer a knock in last weekend’s game but the Cypriot is also primed for inclusion with Hibs reporting no fresh injury concerns for the trip north.
