Hibs hero completes Scottish Championship move after emotional Easter Road exit


Lewis Stevenson has signed for Scottish Championship side Raith Rovers on a two year contract after brining his legendary Hibs spell to and end.
The 36-year old was widely touted for a move to Stark’s Park to likely end his illustrious playing career at his hometown club who he supported as a boy. Having been at Easter Road since the age of 14 he made over 600 appearances for the club and is the only player to have won both the Scottish Cup and the Scottish League cup.

Hide AdOn his move to Rovers he said: “I’m delighted to finally be here. I was an avid armchair fan last season, everyone at the club has done so well and hopefully we can kick on again next season.”
Raith manager and fellow former Hibee Ian Murray added: “Lewis is obviously an excellent signing for us and a player I know well. He will bring so much experience and his attitude has set an example to others over his career.
“He can play in a couple of positions and has so much quality, I really look forward to working with him again and I’m sure being a local guy the supporters will agree it’s a great signing.”

Hide AdRovers finished second in the Scottish Championship last season and made it to the final of the Premiership play-off but were comfortably beaten by Ross County with the Staggies securing their top flight status. Stevenson will link up with two former Hibs teammates at Stark’s Park in Kevin Dąbrowski and Sam Stanton.
