Hibs have been left ‘humbled’ and ‘heartened’ after season tickets sales broke through the 10,000 mark.

The milestone was reached ahead of this evening’s early bird deadline despite the ongoing uncertainty over whether supporters will be able to watch their side at Easter Road this season.

With the new Scottish Premiership season scheduled to start behind closed doors on August 1, Hibs 'virtual' season ticket package will include live coverage of every home game in a two-and-a-half hour programme and free access to Hibs TV.

Confirming the 10,000 target had been met, with numbers continuing to rise, the club tweeted: "We are heartened, we are humbled but we are not surprised. Perseverance is in your DNA.”

Hibs chief executive Leeann Dempster hailed the "unbelievable effort" from fans, tweeting: "On behalf of everyone at the club, thank you. We know not everyone is in a position to buy a season ticket and many of you have helped the club in a host of other ways. It doesn't come as a surprise but it's humbling all the same.”
