Hibs midfielder Stephen McGinn joins Scottish Championship side on loan
Hibs midfielder Stephen McGinn has joined Greenock Morton on loan until the end of the season, the Easter Road club have announced.
The veteran joined Jack Ross’ side earlier this season in a role that would provide depth for the first-team squad and another experienced player to assist the club’s coaching staff.
However, the player is keen for more first-team opportunities. He has featured nine times for the club currently in third place in the Scottish Premiership, though only one of those appearances has come in 2021.
The ex-Watford and Sheffield United ace was the third McGinn brother to play for the Easter Road side after younger siblings Paul and John.]
The 32-year-old becomes Gus MacPherson’s first signing after the former St Mirren boss agreed to take charge of the Scottish Championship side yesterday. The two previously worked together during two MacPherson’s two spells with St Mirren, firstly as head coach and then later as technical director.
