New signings Kevin Nisbet and Alex Gogic had their first chance to shine for Hibernian today, coming on for the final 30 minutes of the 0-0 draw with St Johnstone in a closed doors bounce match at McDiarmid Park.

The recent arrivals, who missed out on Saturday’s friendly against St Mirren, were joined by fellow newcomer Drey Wright on his return to Perth.

While the attackers were unable to provide any goals, they made a positive impact as manager Jack Ross made wholesale changes on the hour mark. There were nine substitutions as the majority of the squad were given a run-out. Only Jamie Gullan and Ryan Porteous were given the entire 90 minutes.

It was the first full match for Porteous since the young defender was sidelined with a second serious knee injury in January. But he came through the season warm-up unscathed and with a clean sheet.
