Tomorrow’s clash between Aberdeen and Hibs at Pittodrie feels like a significant fixture for all sorts of reasons. Not least the pressing need for Marink Reedijk to build on Sunday’s stunning Premier Sports Cup win over Hearts with a first league win under his management.
In the final fixture heading into a shorter international break, this game could be important for both managers, with Dons boss Stephen Robinson now the unlucky focus of the spotlight that has flitted between a series of under-pressure gaffers with remarkable rapidity in this campaign of toil and struggle for several clubs. None of which will be of concern to Hibs, of course.
Undoubtedly buoyed by their Hampden heroics, Reedijk’s men will be expected to maintain performance levels as their attention shifts from the national stadium to the Granite City. And that should - should - be enough for the manager to get that elusive first Scottish Premiership victory in his fifth league game at the helm.
The fact that the game is a 5.45 pm kick-off means it already qualifies as a test of endurance and commitment for travelling fans. Even with many already saving up to splurge the thick end of 50 quid a head on Premier Sports Cup final tickets, the away support should be big enough - and noisy enough - to add some atmosphere at a venue where the locals have been, understandably, a little subdued of late.
Callum Wright getting some minutes at Hampden gives the attacking midfielder a chance of starting, while a couple of other players who came off the bench against Hearts did their chances of selection no harm. With no new injuries report, here’s how we think Hibs will line up:

9. RM/CM Josh Mulligan
Has capitalised on positional switch, nominally lining up on the right but being given freedom to drive inside and leave room for Passlack's overlapping runs. | SNS Group

10. LW/No. 10 Martin Boyle
Might be switched back over to the right to help contain Aberdeen's main threat. But played so well cutting in from the left against Hearts. | SNS Group

11. CF Owen Elding
Bringing a lot of hard graft to the role of lone striker. And it looks as if Hibs have found a way to capitalise on his creativity in a fluid front line. | SNS Group
