The 22-year-old was supposed to spend the season on loan at the League One club, with whom he’s impressed so far this campaign.

But the Easter Road side were left in a goalkeeping crisis after an injury to Ofir Marciano was followed by Dillon Barnes being recalled from his loan by parent club Queens Park Rangers.

With a severe lack of senior options, Hibs’ management decided it was best to bring the Polish stopper back to the club.

A short statement on the website read: “Goalkeeper Kevin Dabrowski has been recalled from his loan spell with Dumbarton.

"The 22-year-old was loaned to the League One Sons for exposure to regular first-team football and he has been a standout performer for Jim Duffy's side across his 12 appearances. Kevin's form saw him named in the SPFL's Team of the Week last month.

“Following Dillon Barnes' return to parent club QPR, he will now focus on competing with Ofir Marciano for a starting spot at Easter Road.

“We'd like to thank everyone at Dumbarton for their work with Kevin in recent months.”

Meanwhile, Hibs are reportedly closing in on the loan signing of Arsenal keeper Matt Macey. The 26-year-old will reportedly undergo a medical at Easter Road ahead of agreeing to loan deal until the end of the campaign.

Macey has twice played for the Arsenal first-team and has enjoyed loan spells with Accrington Stanley, Luton Town and Plymouth Argyle.
