Hibs are running the rule over Estonian internationalist Mihkel Ainsalu as Jack Ross looks to bolster his squad before the transfer window closes on January 31.

The 23-year-old central midfielder has scored 21 goals and registered 18 assists in 148 games for the Tallinn-based club. He has seven caps for his country.

Ainsalu is under contract with the Premium Liiga side until the end of 2020 but was earlier this month tipped for a move abroad by Flora's president Pelle Pohlak.

He confirmed Ainsalu was spending time training with Hibs, adding: "The club is reviewing whether he is a good fit for them."

The seven-cap internationalist came up through the ranks at Nomme Kalju, joining FC Flora in 2015.

Ainsalu has represented Estonia at Under-16, Under-17, Under-19, Under-21 and Under-23 level. He featured in the Euro 2020 qualifiers against the Netherlands and Germany in September and October last year.
